The Slovene language is the official language of Slovenia which had an important role during the Slovenian history. Today, Slovene itself is seen as the main base of national identity. The first book in Slovene that is still spoken today was published in 1550. Despite many influences from other languages, most of the linguistic features are preserved. In Slovenian, dual (grammatical number) is used additionally to plural and singular form. That means a noun that appears in dual form represents specifically two objects or people. Alphabet uses Latin script, and it is quite like English alphabet.
