Greek Language

Greek, ελληνικά is the language that has the oldest documented history within Indo-European language family. It is the official language in Greece and Cyprus. Also, it is spoken in Albania. The alphabet in the Greek language is Greek Alphabet since around 9th century B.C. Alphabet ascended from the Phoenician script and it became the basis of Latin and Cyrillic. Its historical importance is great in Western World regarding philosophy, science and literature. For example, Odyssey and Iliad are two world-known epic poems written in Greek, and It has been the lingua franca in the Mediterranean world since ancient times.
